BIG ANNOUNCEMENT:
Pastors Jerry, David and Tiffany announced on Sunday, May 21 that The Rock will be planting a Foursquare church in Memphis, Tennessee, and that Pastors David and Tiffany Dirmann will be the senior pastors. Pastors David and Tiffany and their family plan to move to Memphis in July 2017 to be there in time for the kids to begin school in August. They’ll spend the Fall and Winter preparing for a Grand Opening in the Spring of 2018. They plan to call the new church, “Memphis Tabernacle,” because it will be a place for the presence of God.

Pastor Jerry shared several important thoughts:

  • DEEPLY MISSED: David, Tiffany and their family will be very deeply missed by many people, and especially Jerry and Kimberly. Not only are David and Tiffany extraordinarily powerful and anointed ministry partners, they are also close family members and friends.

  • CO-FOUNDERS: David and Tiffany were not mere Rock staff members, but co-founders of The Rock. David and Tiffany began to partner with Jerry and Kimberly long before the foundations of The Rock were laid 18 years ago, so they have been involved in every season of growth including the planting of five churches and 19 satellite congregations. David has been a ministry partner of Jerry’s for most of the last 27 years; since David was 14 years old.

  • NEW ASSOCIATION: Though not a Rock satellite campus, Memphis Tabernacle will be a “sister church” of The Rock, and part of a new association of churches called, “BFAM – A Family of Churches.” BFAM stands for, “Be Fruitful And Multiply.”

  • JOIN THE LAUNCH TEAM: We believe Memphis Tabernacle will not just be a church, it will be “a movement.” And God is calling a number of Rock staff members and congregation members to be part of the Memphis Tabernacle Launch Team. If anyone feels they may be called to be part of the Memphis Tabernacle Launch Team, they can add their name to the Interest List here to receive updates on upcoming info meetings.

  • NOT-SO-NEW LEADERS: As David and Tiffany transition, Jerry and Kimberly will assume the role of Lead Pastors of the Anaheim English Congregation, and Jordan Wall will lead the Worship and Creative Arts (WCA) Department.

  • GIVE TOWARD THE LAUNCH: To give toward this new church plant, please write “Memphis Tabernacle Fund” on the memo of your check, or select “Memphis Tabernacle Fund” via electronic giving.

  • BLESS DAVID AND TIFFANY: We know that many people would like to personally bless David and Tiffany for the impact that they’ve made in their lives. Though this can happen any number of ways, we have scheduled a “Goodbye Party” for them at 6pm July 2, 2017 where there will be a place for cards and gifts. Though these gifts are to them personally and therefore not tax-deductible, they will greatly help them to get settled in Memphis, and God will bless the givers according to Mark 10:29 (100-fold).

Pastor David then shared a powerful message entitled “Be Strong and Of Good Courage” calling us to move forward in faith with the vision God has given us.
